Dear TJJ Bus 4 Parents,

Thank you! On behalf of our staff, I need to express our sincere appreciation for partnering with us and trusting us with your children this summer. We have heard from many observers already about how sweet all the teens are on our bus! They group is happy, social and excited to be in Israel!

It’s hard to believe that it’s only been a couple of days; it seems that jet lag barely even had an impact. Once we landed, we were home here in Israel! We woke up on Thursday, our first morning, and departed the hotel at 9am with energy and optimism. We spent the day in the Old and New Cities of David, in and around the Old City of Jerusalem. We walked through the aqueducts underneath the ground and felt the ancient water around our ankles. We visited the Western Wall and felt the ancient tears wet our eyes as many of us saw the stones of the Kotel for the very first time. We experienced the new age Mamilla center with its shops and Time Elevator hybrid roller coaster and history tour.

In the evening we started off our group learning with a deep dive into the necessity of gratitude and how it makes our lives greater. It should come of no surprise that as we discussed all the things worth appreciating for being on this trip, the teens were forthcoming in acknowledging their debt of gratitude to all of you for helping them be here.

This Shabbat we’ll be making the day come alive from our home base at Lindenbaum. We anticipate watching the sunset, telling stories and seeing how this Land can make Shabbat come alive.
