The Anne Samson Jerusalem Journey
TJJ Bus 1 Week 2 Recap

Dear Parents,

We hope this message finds you well! We wanted to share a quick update and give you a glimpse into the incredible journey your teens have been on over the past week. Starting this past Sunday, we’ve been exploring the beauty, adventure, and deep meaning that Israel has to offer. Here’s a day-by-day recap:

Sunday, July 6
We left Maalot and began a full day of outdoor exploration! We hiked the scenic keshet, enjoyed a fresh pizza lunch in the Liman Forest, and experienced the speeds of tornado boats. That evening, we arrived at our new hotel in Hispin.

Monday, July 7
A packed day of fun and inspiration! We made fresh pita at Ancient Katzrin, cooled off at Aqua Kef water park, relaxed at the hot springs in Tiveria, visited the gravesite of Rabbi Meir Baal Haness, and ended with a rocking party boat rave on the Kinneret.

Tuesday, July 8
Our teens got their hands dirty with a volunteer farming experience on a vineyard, followed by a delicious falafel lunch. Then we rafted  through the Jordan River and visited Mt. Bental to learn more about Israel’s northern border and enjoy the incredible view.

Wednesday, July 9
We started the day with an exciting rappelling activity in Dalton. We then visited the village of Misgav Am to gain a deeper understanding of Israels borders, and then had a meaningful kumzitz at the kever of Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai.

Thursday, July 10
A highlight day! The teens worked together building rafts on the beach, completed the bunker challenge at Tel Saki, made sweet memories at a chocolate-making workshop. Then we had the special opportunity to make a barbecue for a group of soldiers at their base. And capped it all off with a concert from Shlomo Katz for an unforgettable evening of unity, singing, and ruach!

Friday, July 11
We floated through the famous Nahal Kibbutzim stream, ate a tasty lunch of grilled chicken in pita, and made our way to Yerushalayim. After some Shabbat prep and shopping, the group checked in to our hotel and now we are on our way to the Kotel.

Your teens are thriving — making friends, stepping out of their comfort zones, and connecting deeply with Israel and Jewish life. We are so proud of how far they’ve already come, and we can’t wait for what’s still ahead!

Wishing you a peaceful and meaningful Shabbat.
Warm regards,

Shlomo Simpser Director, TJJ Bus 1
