Dear NSCY TJJ Bus 4 Family,

We have been having a blast in the GOLAN this week!

We had a very restful and fun first shabbat as a TJJ family. We took advantage of some of the beautiful places in Chispin to enjoy some advisor sessions and get to know one another better. Following a spirited Friday night service (when we were joined by 4 other TJJ buses!!) and Shabbat dinner, we had a great time playing “I am sitting on a chair,” it was quite the ice breaker! After a delicious Shabbat lunch we concluded Shabbat on a high note as we gathered for a very moving kumzitz where we sang together while watching the sun set between the mountains. On Saturday night we hit the basketball courts where we took on 4 other buses in a huge dodgeball tournament! Although we only won one game (and lost two) we still had a great time. We capped off the night with some pizza!

On Sunday the Bus 4 Family began our week at the kibbutz of Misgav Am where we learned about the security of the Lebanese border from a self proclaimed Zionist and “Jewish Redneck” Arieh Amit (originally from Cleveland, Ohio!!). From there we enjoyed a morning water hike in Nachal Hatsbani followed by an amazing raft journey down the Jordan river. Once we were through splashing and swimming in the Jordan we enjoyed the calm cool water as we drifted down stream on a hot day. On our way back to the hotel we even got to make an unscheduled stop at the Teva Naot shoe factory (at least one mom out there should be expecting a present!). On Sunday night we hit the courts once again this time for some basketball!

We are all looking forward to an amazing day in Tiveria tomorrow.
