End of Day 10 and Day 11 – Shabbat in Kibbutz Lavi!

After getting ready for Shabbat, we all went outside to take individual and group pictures. After that, we lit candles and went into the prayer hall to welcome in the Shabbat and do evening prayers. We sang and danced and had an awesome time! Everyone got really into it and we sang our way into dinner… Since bus 3 was also staying in the same hotel as us, we had all of our programming together. We ate a delicious dinner. For starters we had salads and fish, which was followed by a main course and then dessert. Jason Kramer have us a dvar Torah which was really good – he speaks really well! After dinner, we all went into another hall and Aryeh Greenspan (our tour guide, Etanna’s dad) spoke to us about his amazing travels around the world – he went to visit Jewish communities in Ethiopia, Kenya and many other places – he was is such an amazing man with a great life story! After his talk we all chilled and then went to bed – curfew was 12.30pm and wake up in the morning (for those who didn’t want to go to synagogue) was at 10.30am!!! Woooohooooo sleep!

On Shabbat morning (this morning), we woke up and had a kiddush with many delicious foods, including shoko basakit! After kiddush, we went to our davening groups for a half hour and then met up again for lunch… Lunch was nice and short, and after that we had mandatory nap time for a few hours! During the mandatory nap time, Rabbi Rael hung out with everyone and then we all went to sleep/hang out for a bit. Afterwards, we met up at 5pm to have really interesting discussions with speakers, and then we all went to hang out in the park near the hotel. There were games there… It was fun and the view was awesome! After that we went back to the hotel and ate a delicious seudat shlishit. We then sang the Shabbat away and Rabbi Rael told us a really inspirational story before doing havdalah.

We got ready to go out to Tiveria on Motsei Shabbat… We went out on the tayelet and there were many clothes and other things in market stalls to buy – everyone had a lot of fun! We then went back to the hotel while pumping music on the bus, and got sent straight to bed because we have to get up early tomorrow.
