In the morning, we left Kramim and drove two hours to ice cream shop and chocolate shop. After another 45 minutes on the bus, we arrived in sun-kissed Eilat where we did tubing on pita shaped blow-ups and then banana boating. The water was a clear aquamarine in the shallow part, showing the rocks underneath. As the water got deeper, it changed into a deep royal blue like the color of blue ink. During tubing, the warm air brushed through our hair and water splashed in our faces in spontaneous bursts. Everyone in my group wanted to close their eyes to avoid the salt, but as Sydney says, “The salt goes away but the memories don’t,” and we squinted through the stinging to enjoy in the beautiful view of an endless sea. The waves continued to bump against the tube and we flew and bumped up and down yelling from the thrill. All we could hear was our screams as we looked at each other cheering. Afterwards, We boarded a huge boat with two floors and began our ride with a dance party surrounded by sea and wind blowing in our faces. The view was breathtaking. Once we reached a good spot in the sea the real fun began. One by one, we were told to yell “I love myself!” as we would jump into the sea from a ledge of the boat. It was a way to show love for ourselves in order to begin our journeys of loving each other and all Jews. The hour was filled with us jumping off the edge of the boat and attempting tricks (most of us failing) but laughing through it. The air was filled with laughter, cheerful yelling, and splashing. Definitely one of the best moments of this trip. Once the boat continued its way back to shore, the crew played throwback songs that everyone knew the dances to. The boat’s floor shook from everyone’s feet dancing and thumping against it. To end the night, we ate burgers at Burgers Bar on the boardwalk and went shopping. That was just a Sunday on TJJ. If you ask me, the next two weeks are looking up.
